Natural Skin Care Tips For Glowing Skin

If you want your skin to be as healthy as possible then you need to look to natural ways to make that happen. Forget harsh chemicals or abrasive cleansers. Instead think working from the inside out!

Improve Your Digestion

If you do not have good eating habits then it will be difficult to have healthy skin. Your skin is a reflection of the state of your digestive system. Many people who suffer from skin disorders such as acne, psoriasis, rosacea, etc. may also suffer from digestive problems such as constipation or diarrhea, an imbalance of good and bad bacteria, stomach discomfort, or other types of digestive ailments.

Two of the most common problems that lead to digestive problems include not drinking enough water on a daily basis and not consuming enough fiber on a regular basis. Water is an essential part of the daily diet as it helps to hydrate the cells, gets rid of waste from the body and prevents constipation from occurring. Aim to drink six to eight glasses of water per day. Keep a water bottle with you at all times. Keep one in your car and in your bag, and at work.

Studies have shown that the average individual takes in only about 12 grams of fiber daily. This is not nearly enough. Males between the ages of 19 to 50 years need approximately 38 grams of fiber a day while females in the same age group require 25 grams. Males over 50 years of age are recommended to take in 31 grams of fiber a day while females in this age group need 21 grams of fiber.

Suggestions for Increasing Your Fiber Consumption

To have glowing skin you need to increase your fiber consumption. You can do this in a variety of ways. First, add more whole grains to your diet. Choose whole grain products over refined or enriched products. Eat brown rice and other types of pasta as opposed to white.

Eat cauliflower either in its raw state or include it in a salad or recipe. Speaking of salads, for an instant fiber boost, add ground flaxseeds or flaxseed powder to your favorite salads, casseroles or add it to rice. You can also add it to cereal, oatmeal or yogurt. Always keep flaxseed in the refrigerator.

Apples are a rich source of fiber. Have one as a snack but make sure that you eat it with the skin on to reap the most health benefits. Other snack food ideas that are full of fiber include nuts, seeds and dried fruit. Look to dried fruits such as dates, prunes and figs to supply you with the fiber your skin needs to radiate good health!

Beans and legumes are also an excellent source of fiber. Both are very versatile and can be included with any number of meal ideas.

Get Sluggish Circulation Moving!

If you have a job where you sit for hours on end this is not good for any part of you, including your skin. Inactivity and sitting for long periods of time can affect the skin in many adverse ways. It can lead to the development of acne, cellulite and a loss of muscle tone. It can also encourage bloating and puffiness to take place.

To counteract these concerns, look for creative and inventive ways to move your body. Whenever you can take a break do so. Walk around the office or go outside and take a quick jaunt. Begin and end your day with stretching and stretch at work whenever you need to. Go to the gym as often as you can. Ride a stationery bike, play tennis or go swimming at the local pool.
